Studio Recording
We are thrilled to announce that we are nearing the completion of the recording of our professional demo album with 6 String Ranch Studio in Austin, Texas! The Sunflower album includes 21 songs with full arrangment and orchestration. Laura and Premila have put in dozens of hours in the studio working with the talented sound engineer Matt Smith to record initial vocals with piano, then develop and record full orchestration for each song.
Last fall we were thrilled to welcome acclaimed musician Guy Forsyth to the studio to re-record the vocals for the part of Vincent Van Gogh. The strength of Guy’s voice and expression bring a special depth to the role and wonderfully capture both the light and dark parts of Van Gogh’s personality. Guy’s schedule and work can be found at www.guyforsyth.com.
Amalie’s vocals have recently been recorded by the talented 11-year-old talented Austin student Lucky Cantu. Lucky has significant vocal and acting experience in both film and stage. Her sweet and beautiful voice is perfect to tell Amalie’s story through song.
In Washington DC, Premila is completing recording of the children’s choral parts with a dedicated group of 5th to 8th grade students. These recordings will then be combined with those in Austin and professionally mixed at 6 String Ranch. The final album should be produced by the end of June, 2019.
